Again, we appreciate your patience and your business.

Appeal for PPE to protect our Medical Professionals

APPEAL FOR PPE

March 30, 2020

To the greater community:

As we work to remain safe during the current medical crisis, I want to raise awareness of the real need among our medical professionals for additional personal protective equipment. Some companies have joined the government in the effort to help address this situation. To that end, I’m asking friends and colleagues to check their inventories and supplies for any PPE that can be donated to your local medical professionals. Your company might supply or utilize N95 or other masks to help protect those who sand floors, paint, etc. While this PPE is not normally rated for medical use, in this time of crisis our medical professionals are utilizing it.

Locally, we’ve been gathering such PPE as part of project M.A.S.K. (Many Acts of Small Kindness), a term one of my children coined. Please work both to find such resources in your community and to share this thought with your contacts. Any PPE we donate that helps keep medical professionals safe has a real force multiplier effect. Finally, in an age where everything is politicized, please know that this request is apolitical. We just want to support our medical people as best we can. Thanks for any help.

Respectfully,

Scott Rozmus

Dear FlorStar customers:

We continue our efforts to safeguard our employees and community, comply with government directives, and serve you during these trying times.  As you may have heard, on Friday, March 20, the governor of Illinois issued a shelter-in-place order.   Certain firms including FlorStar are deemed essential businesses under the current order.   As a member of the building materials supply chain servicing not only construction generally, but specifically health care, pharmaceutical, grocery, and other essential businesses, FlorStar will continue operating.

In addition to the cautionary measures we adopted previously and reviewed with you March 16, FlorStar has enacted additional protocols.   Among these, we have now shifted almost all of our Romeoville office staff to their homes.  We appreciate your patience with any delays involved in responding to you.   As a reminder, in addition to our 1-800 number, you may place orders with us utilizing our orders@florstar.com email box, our 24/7 I-Focus portal available at www.florstar.com, or by contacting your FlorStar sales person.   We temporarily will have difficulty servicing any faxed orders and apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

We will continue our delivery schedules as long as it remains safe to do so.   If your firm has any specific instructions or requirements in this regard, please let us know.   Our sales professionals will be operating from their home offices in all states.  If you have a consumer with a product complaint, please contact your FlorStar sales person and we will attempt to have the consumer utilize digital pictures to help us diagnose and resolve the matter quickly.   If a field inspection is required, we will have to wait until it is safe before scheduling.

Also, please remember that FlorStar can help you service customers remotely by sending small sample cuttings to them.   With many people confined to their homes, this service can help you close both residential and commercial sales remotely.   We may not have every sku requested, but we have many and can work with vendors to procure many more.

Thank you as always for supporting FlorStar Sales.   Please accept our best wishes for your health and safety and for the health and safety of your families and communities.

Enhanced Service Update: FlorStar Michigan Customers

Dear Michigan Customers:

Today, Governor Whitmer revised her standing shelter-in-place order to permit construction activities to resume, effective May 7, 2020.  See Executive Order No. 2020-77, Sec. 10(g), 11(i).

FlorStar will continue operating to serve you in Michigan pursuant to the Governor’s order and we are excited to have this expanded role.    As the Governor’s order also reiterated her previous guidance allowing certain curbside pick-up retail activities, we understand that many customers have or soon will be resuming operations.

We want you to be aware we continue working to ensure everyone’s safety.  You may notice our drivers and will-call teams wearing masks or other PPE.   We’ve also asked our drivers and team handling your will call orders to remain at least six feet from customers at all times.  We are monitoring our employees for any symptoms pursuant to governmental directives and CDC guidance.  When visiting our facilities we will appreciate the same courtesies from your teams in regard to symptom monitoring, facial protection, and social distancing.

We are excited also to have a new supplier among our portfolio of great and trusted brands—Ardex.  Please contact your FlorStar sales representative to discuss adding Ardex and Henry’s products, including Feather Finish, to our bundled delivery service.

We continue to remain available to assist you specifically with health and safety related orders, especially in regard to quick-ship material needed to complete temporary medical facilities.   Although our sales team remains off the road, they will be happy to help you with this or any other questions you might have.

All of us who depend upon the Michigan economy have been impacted significantly by the steps our leaders have taken in their effort to promote safety.  We hope you and all of your families are safe and are hopeful we can all work together to rebuild our operations swiftly and safely.   Thank you once again for your attention to these updates and for your support of FlorStar Sales.
